Caring for You and Baby During Pregnancy

Gestational diabetes occurs during pregnancy, typically in the second trimester, and affects women who have no prior history of diabetes. It happens when pregnancy hormones interfere with the body’s ability to produce enough insulin, leading to elevated blood glucose levels.

While gestational diabetes usually resolves after childbirth, it does increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life for both the mother and the child. Proper management during pregnancy is essential to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
At Alium Health, we provide specialized care for expectant mothers with gestational diabetes, offering nutritional guidance, blood sugar monitoring, and regular check-ins to support you and your baby’s well-being. After delivery, we continue to monitor your health closely and help you take proactive steps to prevent future complications.
